About Jim

Jim started working in his father's auto repair business when he was a high school freshman at the age of 14. That experience continued during the summer and after school for the four years of high school, where he learned auto mechanics from his dad as well as other master mechanics employed in his father's business.

During his undergraduate college years to work his way through college, Jim continued working in the auto repair business. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, Jim served in the U.S. army for two years as a microware radio specialist, the returned to Arizona to attend graduate school and teach at DeVry in Phoenix.

He is currently employed with a desk job as an administrator/manager but he never lost his love for mechanical work. He purchased his first Mercedes over 20 years ago and was initially impressed with the fine engineering and mechanical excellence for which these automobiles are know. After a few years experience with that original 1971 280SE, Jim switched to a 1979 280E and started to become very familiar with the 123 body style. Eight years later when that auto was crashed, Jim went looking for another 123 and this time selected a 1983 300D Diesel Turbo. His wife insists that his love of that diesel must originate from a defective gene and that on occasion she knows he intentionally breaks it just for the chance to spend some additional time tinkering in his garage.

Whether your interest in a Mercedes is a matter of necessity, a labor of love, or something in between, Jim hopes to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for these outstanding Mercedes automobiles with you.
